Self-regulating heating cable HILOpipe 10 is designed for frost protection of plastic and metal pipes at your home during winter. HILOpipe with 10 W/m output and with connection cable and plug, provides Quick&Easy installation, just Plug&Play.
HILOpipe 10 is a self-regulating heating cable that can be installed directly on the pipe or inserted into the pipe through the metal fitting. HILOpipe with polyolefin over jacket is used for frost protection of drinking water by inserting the HILOpipe cable inside the pipe.
The wide range of HILOpipe 10 cables serves your choice for a proper length and power output that stops pipes from freezing, whether it is sewerage or other pipes in unheated premises.
Water supply systems are most dependent on the temperature of the specific pipe and the condition of the pipe for the quality of its water supply, which require specific reliable solutions.
New generation halogen-free self-regulating cable HILOpipe 10 has a polyolefin outer jacket, which is used for frost protection of drinking water inside the pipe or on-pipe.
HILOpipe cable is built with two copper conductors separated by a polymer matrix that expands and contracts with the ambient temperature. This, in turn, varies the output of the cable, so that the colder it gets, the more heat it puts out. HILOpipe 10 protects pipes in linear or spiralling tracing with a simple Plug&Play connection.
HILOpipe is the ideal solution for all types of pipes, whether it is under the ground or inside the building.
HILOpipe 10 can be easily installed directly on the surface of the pipe whereby the cable is fixed alongside two layers of adhesive aluminium tape for covering or inserted into the pipe through the metal HILOpipe fitting if there is no possibility to fix the heating cable on the pipe.
HILOpipe 10 is Quick&Easy to set up for connection: simply plug it into a socket, for example, when the temperature drops below 5 °C, and plug it off when it is warm enough (air temperature above 5 °C).
HILOpipe 10 is saving energy and it‘s easy to install. For large installations, HILØ recommend to set-up the heating cable together with a thermostat, which saves your time and money.

HILOpipe a self-regulating heating cable in unheated rooms should be installed on the pipe. The self-regulating heating cable has to be attached to the pipe through all cable length with aluminium tape and each 25 cm heating cable should be fixed with aluminium tape around the pipe. Then, cover the pipe with thermal insulation.
You can protect the pipes from freezing by inserting the HILOpipe heating cable inside the pipe through the metal sleeve.
The pipe is installed with a plumbing tee according to the pipe diameter. The tee should be D20 or D25 in diameter. Install HILOpipe metal fitting D20/25 into the pipe, screw the metal fitting into a tee and seal it.
When installing the HILOpipe cable on a metal pipe, first you need to install the HILOpipe cable along the pipe length and attach it with aluminium tape to the pipe through all cable length. When the cable is fixed on the pipe cover it with thermal insulation to give maximum heat to the pipe.
When installing the HILOpipe cable on a plastic pipe, first, you need to glue the adhesive aluminium tape along the pipe. Then, installed HILOpipe cable by attaching it to the pipe with a second layer of adhesive aluminium tape on top of the cable. Two layers of aluminium foil extend the heated surface and maximize the heat transfer from the heating cable to the plastic pipe.
You have to use the metal D20/25 HILOpipe fitting for the pipe. Screw the metal D20/25 HILOpipe fitting into a tee and seal it.
Yes, we recommend using a HILOpipe heating cable with metal D20/25 HILOpipe fitting for the heating cable installation in the pipe.
The minimum thickness of the thermal insulation should not be less than 10mm; the thicker is the insulation; the lower is the consumption for electrical heating.
It is necessary to install thermal insulation on top of the pipe after the heating cable is installed.
